Hari Krishnan P. K.

Dr. Hari Krishnan P. K holds a Ph.D. in Tourism Management from the University of Kerala and Master of Tourism Administration (MTA) from Pondicherry Central University. He has also qualified the UGC-NET examination. His academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature (B.A.) and Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed) from the University of Kerala. In addition, he earned the IATA (Standard) Travel Consultant Diploma in 1994 and is recognized as an Accredited Management Teacher (AMT) by the All India Management Association (AIMA).

With 16 years of experience in the tourism industry, including thirteen years in senior management positions, Dr. Krishnan's expertise spans various areas of inbound tourism such as Product Development, Inbound Tour Operations, International and National Marketing, and Event Management. He has been instrumental in managing charter flights and cruise liners. Notably, he played a key role in developing Kerala's first responsible, sustainable, and eco-friendly tourism initiative, "The Thekkady Tiger Trail," which won the National Award for Excellence from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in 1999.

Dr. Krishnan has been a regular attendee at major international tourism fairs like WTM London and ITB Berlin since 1999, and has visited over twenty countries to promote tourism products and services. He was pivotal in establishing the first offshore Travel & Tourism BPO in Kerala in 2004 at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, for a UK-based client. Additionally, he was deeply involved in organizing the holiday for the legendary Sir Paul McCartney during his visit to Kerala in 2002.

As a coordinator, Dr. Krishnan has led various training programs for KITTS on behalf of Government of Kerala agencies, including the Department of Tourism, KASE (Kerala Academy of Skill Excellence), and the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP). He also coordinated the state and local level tourist guides training program and the Assistant Tourism Information Officers training for the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala.

Dr. Krishnan has published numerous research papers in UGC CARE-listed and internationally reputed journals, including Scopus, and has presented his research at national and international seminars. He served as the Secretary of the South Kerala Hoteliers Federation (SKHF) from 2008 to 2011 and is a member of several professional organizations, including the All India Management Association (AIMA), the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), the Trivandrum Management Association (TMA), the Indian Tourism Congress (ITC), the Indian Institute of Training and Development, and SKAL.
